Meet the Team Behind Horizon Bait Boats

Horizon Bait Boats is a small, family-run business built around a genuine love of fishing.

We’re not a large corporation or a faceless online brand. We’re anglers who spend real time on the bank, who understand how important reliable gear is, and who know that when you’ve put the hours in, your equipment needs to perform.

Horizon was founded by Ryan, alongside Perry and Michael - three anglers with decades of combined experience fishing across the UK and Europe. After years of using, upgrading and sometimes being frustrated by different bait boats, we kept coming back to the same question:

Why are the boats with the features anglers actually need either over-complicated or massively overpriced?

So we decided to build something better.

Our goal was simple - create a bait boat with dependable GPS functionality, strong battery performance and straightforward controls, all at a price that keeps advanced technology accessible.

That’s how Horizon was born.

Built From Real Sessions

Everything we design is shaped by how we actually fish.

On a trip to France, Ryan used the Horizon bait boat to help land a huge trophy paddlefish that hadn’t been caught in over 18 years. It was a reminder that the right tools, used properly, can completely change a session.

Perry has used the Horizon to land his personal best - a 41lb Orchid A-Team zip-lin. With limited time on the bank, efficiency matters. The boat’s straightforward setup and smooth operation make it easy to focus on fishing, not fiddling with settings.

Michael brings decades of angling experience and values simplicity above all else. During a session at Bayeswater, he used the Horizon to drop rigs and bait precisely - landing multiple 30lb carp in a single trip.

We don’t design from behind a desk. We build based on real use, real feedback and real results.

Why We Built the Horizon XP

After countless conversations with anglers, one thing became clear: boats offering advanced features like GPS memory spots and extended battery systems often came with eye-watering price tags.

We didn’t think that was necessary.

The Horizon XP was developed as a refined evolution of our original design - quieter, more precise and more user-friendly - while staying true to our core principle: performance without the premium price.

We improved noise reduction, upgraded the GPS system for greater accuracy, increased battery capacity for longer sessions, and refined the internal design to make it more dependable on the water.

Importantly, we include the features many brands charge extra for - such as a detachable bait spreader and sonar mount - supplied as standard. No hidden add-ons. No unexpected extras.
